My story

My journey to teaching yoga and opening a school in Sri Lanka is deeply rooted in my past struggles and triumphs. Growing up as the child of Turkish immigrants, I faced a challenging childhood without parental support, which forced me to fight for my rights and independence. At 18, I left home to carve my own path, grappling with chronic neurodermatitis and the emotional scars of my upbringing. The birth of my beautiful son, Ilyas, in 2009 was a turning point, but a severe flare-up in 2010 led me to Rishikesh for yoga teacher training. This experience transformed my life, allowing me to heal and find purpose in teaching yoga since 2011..

After my first visit to Sri Lanka in 2008, I felt a profound connection to the land it has a breathtaking beautiful nature. By 2022, after several visits, I decided to establish my own yoga school there, driven by my passion for training others and creating a joyful community. Despite health challenges, I persevered, finding the perfect property after four trips. My dream is to share the healing power of yoga and support others on their journeys, just as I have fought for my own.
